Whether you're a die-hard cricket fanatic or someone who can only handle the highlights, we pitch to you the 2023-24 WBBL and BBL season. Brimming with excitement and high energy, this year's sure to bowl you over with plenty of big hits and memorable moments to keep you entertained throughout the holiday season. Below we'll chat through not only what the Big Bash is, but how and where you can stream it live.
Where can I stream the 2023-24 WBBL and BBL season?
There are just two ways you can stream the entire 2023-24 Women's Big Bash League and (Men's) Big Bash League season. Kayo Sports has the rights to stream all the Women's and Men's Big Bash matches. These are you options for Kayo plans:
Alternatively, you can sign up to Foxtel Now, however this isn't the most affordable option. This is because you'll need to sign up for the All Packs tier to access its Sports package. It comes in at a hefty $59 per month.
But if you have already been considering a Foxtel Now subscription, you'll also get access to over 76 live channels, including movies, drama extra, kids, documentaries and its Essential channels.
If you think Stan Sport or Optus Sport are also streaming the Big Bash, you'd be caught out because, unfortunately, they don't have the broadcast rights.
When does the 2023-24 WBBL and BBL season start in Australia?
The 2023-24 WBBL (Women's Big Bash League) season will start on October 19 at 7:40pm AEDT.
The 2023-24 BBL (Men's Big Bash League) comes in to bat on December 7 2023 at 7:15pm AEDT.
What is 2023-24 WBBL and BBL about?
The 2023-24 WBBL and BBL seasons represent both the Women's and Men's Big Bash Leagues. This style of cricket is all about big hits, fast bowling and generating huge excitement. It's a great way to get involved in the sport without having to commit to longer stints of cricket, like Test Matches which go for an eye-watering five days for one competition. By comparison, each Big Bash game usually only lasts a couple of hours at most.
There are eight women's teams and eight men's teams representing all the Australian states: the Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder.
How long does the 2023-24 WBBL and BBL season go for?
The last match of the 2023-24 WBBL season before finals falls on November 26 2023. The grand final for the Women's BBL season is on December 2 2023.
The last match of the 2023-24 BBL season before finals is on January 17 2024. The grand final match of the Men's BBL season is on January 24 2024.
Overall, the entire 2023-24 Women's Big Bash League and the Men's Big Bash League seasons lasts just over three months.
What is Kayo Sports?
Kayo Sports is Foxtel's answer to a sports-only streaming service. It has a mammoth collection of everything sports-related, including post-match interview panels and some more obscure sports like polo, horse riding, eSports and even lawn mower racing! Chances are if there's a sport you're into, Kayo is streaming it.
How does Kayo Sport compare?
While there are other, more affordable sports streaming services out there, with Kayo Sports you truly get what you pay for. From its huge selection of sporting content, often with exclusive streaming rights, to its funky features, it still beats forking out for Foxtel Now.
Some of Kayo's clever features include an intuitive 'No Spoilers' function, which censors match scores and key moments upon sign-in and browsing throughout the app, which would normally give away the score. If you can't be bothered rewatching matches and just want the best bits, Kayo's 'KeyMoments' feature has you covered, offering the best highlights.
Its 'SplitView' function allows to watch multiple matches simultaneously on the one screen. And did we mention no ad breaks during play?
