Aussie Broadband has grown from a promising upstart to the nation's fourth-biggest internet provider. This is largely thanks to a combination of consistently high evening speeds and excellent local support.

The telco says its customers rarely encounter congestion - even during peak times - and to prove it, publishes bandwidth graphs that show how much capacity it has purchased on the network versus how much capacity its customers are using.

Aussie Broadband is currently one of the only major telco to provide this much transparency around its NBN performance.

Aussie Broadband NBN quick facts

  • All Aussie Broadband NBN plans are contract-free and have no set-up fees
  • Aussie Broadband's support is all Australian
  • Aussie Broadband has won Roy Morgan's Most Trusted Brand award for telco two years in a row

Aussie Broadband NBN plans

Here's a quick look at Aussie Broadband's most popular NBN plans:

Aussie Broadband NBN Speeds

Aussie Broadband sells NBN plans on all of the NBN speed tiers: NBN 12, NBN 25, NBN 50, NBN 100/20, NBN 100/40, NBN 250, and NBN 1000. In addition, Aussie Broadband also has an NBN 75 plan, which could be a good middle-ground for those who need more than an NBN 50 connection, but don't want to spend the money on NBN 100.

Check out how Aussie Broadband compares to other NBN providers for speed here.

Aussie Broadband NBN bundles

Aussie Broadband has a few different things you can bundle onto your NBN plan.

Aussie Broadband Fetch bundles

You can add Fetch to any Aussie Broadband plan. You can choose between a Fetch Mini or a Fetch Mighty Box, depending on your budget and what you're hoping to get from the service. Fetch Mini lets you pause and rewind live TV, while Mighty also lets you record up to six shows at a time and is kitted out with a massive 1TB hard drive. A Fetch Mni will set you back $10 per month, while a Fetch Mighty goes for $15 per month.

You can then add Fetch TV's core channel packs for $6 per month each, or get all four for $20 per month.

How to switch to Aussie Broadband NBN

To find out if you're eligible for an Aussie Broadband NBN plan, first check your address in our broadband search engine. If Aussie Broadband is listed in the search results, you can make the switch.

Once you've picked a plan that works for you and your family, you can place an order directly with Aussie Broadband. Aussie Broadband will help you to organise an installation date and time. You may still need to cancel your existing internet service with your previous provider after your Aussie Broadband service is ready.

If you already have an NBN connection at your place, the standard time frame is one to five business days, and you won't need a visit from a technician. If it's your first time getting connected to the NBN, this process can take up to 20 business days and a technician will need to make the initial setup.

Aussie Broadband can provide you with an NBN-ready modem, although you're free to bring your own compatible modem. You'll pay a minimum of $179 if you want to buy your modem through Aussie Broadband, plus shipping fees.

Another important thing to note: while installation is free for most customers, if you're located in a newly developed area with no existing telecommunications infrastructure, you may be charged a $300 New Development Fee by NBN Co.
