How we judge this award
Only prepaid plans offering 30GB or more of data are considered for this award, aimed at high volume users who still want the flexibility of paying in advance.
Cost efficiency is assessed on a cost per gigabyte basis instead of total price, reflecting that high use customers gain the most benefit when a larger allowance is also priced efficiently.
Plan inclusions are checked against a checklist of eleven possible features, each worth one point: no speed cap, 5G network access, some international calls, unlimited international calls, roaming inclusion, no excess data charge, data banking or rollover, data sharing, data gifting, streaming or subscription perks, and other bonus perks, with no speed cap, unlimited international calls and data rollover mattering most once a customer is regularly consuming large volumes of data each month.
Network performance is measured using independently gathered, provider level speed data, since heavy prepaid users are more likely to notice any drop in connection quality during busy periods.
Support Channels adds up eight specific options: a physical store, phone support, online live chat, email or message support, a responsive social media or forum presence, 24/7 support availability, weekend support, and online account management, one point for each offered.
Product Review reflects satisfaction ratings submitted by verified customers of the plan and its provider. The Ranking is calculated from the combined result of all five criteria.
