On the hunt for the right NBN plan? Go with iiNet, and you can sign on for limitless data, a variety of speeds, and optional TV extras - all on your choice of contract or month-to-month plans.
If you opt for a 24-month contract, you'll pay $0 activation fees, you'll get an included free WiFi modem, and you can switch plans at any time (although a $29 fee may apply). Customers on month-to-month plans will pay a $79.95 activation fee at setup.
iiNet offer fixed line, fixed wireless, and satellite connections for NBN customers. Here's a few of our picks for the best options for iiNet NBN customers - click here to view all available iiNet plans.
If you don't need unlimited data or break-neck connection speeds, iiNet's Basic 250 plans are all priced at $59.99 per month on a 24-month contract. The plan includes 250GB of monthly data, with download speeds up to 12Mbps, and no excess uses charges: any gigabytes over your included 250 is simply slowed until your next month.
iiNet offers both fixed wireless and fixed line (fibre) plans at this price point, depending on your location. Customers should keep in mind that both Basic 250 options only feature pay-as-you-go voice calls over VoIP, so you will need to pay extra for Netphone calls.
While capping your data at 250GB (or less) offers the cheapest monthly pricing, if you're a fan or streaming and downloading, or live in a multi-user household, up sizing to unlimited may be worth the extra $10 per month.
iiNet's NBN Basic Limiitless plans start at $69.99 per month for 12Mbps speeds on a 24-month contract. You'll also get $0 standard installation, a free modem, and other iiNet benefits, such as 24/7 customer service.
Best big data
While customers can economise with a 250GB NBN plan (or even 60GB or 120GB on satellite services), iiNet offers unlimited data plans for fixed line and fixed wireless, from $69.99 per month with PAYG voice calls.
The $70 starter tier offers speeds up to 12Mbps, but for a family or household, you may prefer a faster connection. The NBN Boost Liimitless plan is priced at $79.99 per month, and includes download speeds up to 25Mbps.
Best high speed
Good news for speed freaks: iiNet offers plans with potential downloads of up to 100Mbps, on its Fibre MAX Liimitless service. All plans include unlimited data, and start at $99.99 per month (if you don't bundle in included calls).
This option is available on fibre optic service only, but this does mean if you're eligible, you can expect super-fast speeds without peak/off-peak restrictions. iiNet does throw in $0 activation fees on contracts and a free NBN-ready modem, but you'll need to pay $10 for delivery.
Want to throw mobile and landline call - and Fetch TV - in with your NBN plan? iiNet's Fibre Boost Liimitless plan includes local and standard national calls and calls to Aussie mobiles for $89.99 per month, and for an extra $11 monthly you can add Fetch TV, plus your choice of one TV Channel Pack.
Additional Channel Packs can be added for $6 per month, per pack. International call packs are also available: you'll get unlimited calls to landlines in iiNet's Top 20 countries (including the UK, the US, Canada, New Zealand, and China) for an extra $10 per month.
If you're in a regional or rural area of Australia, you may only be eligible to connect to the NBN via satellite. iiNet's satellite NBN options start at $39.99 per month, for 60GB of data and 12Mbps speeds.
If you're looking for a good mid-range satellite plan, the 120 Boost option gives you 120GB of data - plus speeds up to 25Mbps - for $54.99 per month. Data on satellite plans is divided into peak and off-peak allowances: for the above plan, you'll get 40GB at peak times, and 80GB for off-peak hours.
