More About TPG
TPG
TPG internet offers a competitive range of ADSL/ADSL2+ broadband plans, email services, website and domain name hosting to consumers and businesses in Australia. TPG have a domestic and international data backbone enabling them to provide high quality and low cost Internet services.
TPG’s plans appear ludicrously priced at the outset, offering some of Australia’s cheapest broadband deals ranging from a 15GB to a completely unlimited download cap. However, according to user reviews there can be some small issues with TPG broadband’s international call centre and internet reliability.
TPG Customer Service
If user reviews are to be believed TPG’s international call centre can often be unhelpful in matters of technical support. This isn’t much of an issue to the average user who never encounters any problems, but to the few who do it can be frustrating.
However, installation and setup reviews are quite strong, with many customers reporting their TPG internet connections as up and running well within the given timeframe.
The Product
TPG has taken the opposite approach to that of Telstra Bigpond and iinet in that they offer as much internet per dollar as they can, supplying generous data allowances at competitive prices. As such the cost of their broadband plans may significantly outweigh any problems you might face when you consider TPG internet offers an unlimited download cap for the same price as a 200GB cap from their competitors.
If you find yourself hitting your cap every month but are intimidated by a lot of the pricing offered by other ISP’s then it might be a good idea to compare broadband deals online and see if any of TPG’s ADSL plans catch your eye. It’s also a good idea to keep an eye out online for their bundle plans, which will definitely make you look twice when you see the price. Just be wary of varying speeds. TPG may be fast during peak times, but their advertised speeds drop from 20Mbps to 4Mbps during off-peak hours.
TPG Overview
TPG broadband offers some of the cheapest broadband on the market. While they have reportedly had some issues with tech support and customer service they’re definitely a great choice for heavy internet users on a tight budget.
