Fusion Bundle
This plan bundles broadband with a home phone service under a single package price.
Can you get Optus Cable Broadband?
Optus Cable is only available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metropolitan areas, although some specific locations might not be serviceable. Call Optus or check your availability as you sign up.
Getting Started
Installation of Optus Cable Broadband
Optus Cable Broadband needs to be professionally installed. If you are switching to Optus, there is no BYO Modem option for Optus Cable and you must get an Optus Cable Modem. A standard modem is included for new customers who sign up for 24 months on the $79 and $89 Fusion plan. A home Wi-Fi modem is available for new Optus broadband customers and is included when you sign up for 24 months on the $99, $109 and $129 Fusion plans.
Professional Installation for Cable Broadband.
Professional Installation is required for installing Optus Cable Broadband and requires a technician visiting your house.
Wired & Wi-Fi Modems
Unless you are using a wi-fi modem or wired router with additional cabling to your computer, it is most likely that you will need to have your computer positioned near the phone socket in your house. If you wish to network multiple computers in your home to the Internet, you will require either a Wi-Fi modem/router or a wired 4 port modem/router. If you are using two or more computers in the house, your download allowance will be shared amongst all the computers in the house i.e. there is not a download allowance allocated to each computer.
Excess Usage
If you exceed your standard monthly data allowance, excess usage will be charged at 15¢/MB up to 2GB of excess usage after which your speed will be limited (shaped) to the following:
- 'yes' Fusion $79: 64kbps
- 'yes' Fusion $89: 64kbps
- 'yes' Fusion $99: 128kbps
- 'yes' Fusion $109: 128kbps
- 'yes' Fusion $129: 256kbps
There are no excess usage charges for the 'yes' Fusion $129 plan, instead the speed is throttled (shaped) after 30GB of usage, until the end of your billing month.
